August has been an interesting and busy month with us, at OSR Medical. We have been holding Free Public CPR & AED Awareness courses in Ripon, to help build awareness and confidence for the public to be able to use the community defibrillators.
With Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) being the UK biggest killer and only 1 in 3 people survive an out of hospital heart attack, we believe it is important to work with the community and try to improve these statistics.
Our free courses were very popular and give confidence for the public, whether they had completed a first aid course or not. We also had some great feedback:
“Great instruction and level of understanding, 10 happy customers now with more knowledge”
“ I have attended Damien’s course on first aid at work. Already had to use the knowledge gained so am very appreciative of Damien’s work!”
As well as hold our free courses we have been holding a few Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) courses. The courses held cover a good range of businesses, from a sports club to a demolition company. This shows that the EFAW course is for any business that requires trained personnel to provide first aid should the worst happen in the workplace.
As well as providing First Aid training we have also taken part in a few events, including Yorkshire Day 2018 in Ripon. We had a stall set up to show what great courses we provide, but also to provide First Aid equipment and staff to help cover the first aid needs of the event.
